PATIENT-FRIENDLY DOCTORS

We all know that there are are many doctors who are not sympathetic to the ongoing needs of patients diagnosed with herpes. They tell the patient that they have herpes, hand them a prescription, and send them on their way. Often, the patient is in terrible emotional distress over the news and does not know where to turn.

But as we know, there are many resources for herpes sufferers out there - it is just that the doctor has not informed the patient about these. THEREFORE, this page is designed to assist people in locating doctors who are willing to maintain and pass on better information to their patients. www.diagnology.com is the home of the company that produces the POCkit test, which is a type specific test for type 2 HSV. Go to their website at www.diagnology.com and check out their growing nationwide list of physicians around America who will provide testing for HSV.

In return for agreeing to provide this information, a doctor can be listed here in a searchable list with name, city/state. and phone number. Obviously, this will not help YOU, as you probably already have that information if you are here. However, the intention is for doctors to give the information out to patients who have not found the information by other means.

This is an area of ongoing development for us. If any doctors or other medical practitioners would like to sign up for this section, please do so by sending an email to Dr. H. HERE with the following information: Name, medical specialty, city/state, phone, email, and contact information for your nearest ASHA HELP group (to prove that you've looked it up). We'll get the list started and formalize the specific details as soon as we have you set up.
